Bryan Bowen Architects, P.C. engaged with ReNew Construction for a commercial remodel to house the offices of Namaste Solar. As with any deep energy remodel of an out-of-date building, there were frequent unforeseen conditions, circumstances, and political requirements, all to be handled under commercial time constraints. ;Chris Grandinetti’s ability to manage the project with integrity and clarity was exceptional, and the owner-designer-builder team benefited immensely from his skills, character, and communication style. In addition, Chris’s team was integral to attaining a LEED Gold Certification for the project. Personally, I look forward to working with Chris on future projects knowing that his part of the work will be well executed.
Our old house was a mess: lopsided, faulty wiring, wasp infestation, critters, you name it. Chris certainly had his work cut out for him. All that with a short timeline as we had a baby on the way. Chris pulled it all together in less than six months. One of the biggest compliments we get is that it looks like we have a brand new house and not a remodel. One thing that contributed to the overall success of the project was the constant flow of communication between Chris and us. We always felt that we were in the loop and that if we had a concern, Chris was always easy to reach. We also like that some materials from the original house were reused or recycled. We greatly appreciated the thoughtful extras like having a bothersome tree removed from the front yard. When people kept telling us that getting a permit from the county was going to be a nightmare, we were happily surprised when Chris quickly and smoothly got us through the process.
We have worked with ReNew Construction on two remodeling projects: a small bathroom renovation and a major kitchen and dining room renovation. We had a terrific experience with both and couldn’t be more pleased with the results! Everyone talks about how difficult it can be to work with contractors, but we never once felt that way. Chris explained everything clearly to us—from project costs to plumbing details. His subs were professional, friendly and by the end we felt like they were part of our family. Our two-year-old son even asked (by name) when they were coming back. When we considered a total remodel on another home, Chris helped us evaluate the project. His complete honesty and down-to-earth professional manner helped us determine that it was not the right project for us, but we certainly hope to have the opportunity to use ReNew Construction again!
